Si è svolta questa notte, al Microsoft Theatre di Hollywood, la sessantanovesima edizione degli Emmy Awards, uno dei due premi principali per la serialità televisiva americana (l’altro sono i Golden Globes) che ha incoronato i migliori show per la stagione 2016/2017 nelle categorie drama, comedy, limited series e television movie (oltre a cose minori alle quali non ci interessiamo).
Vista la non candidabilità di Game of Thrones (non uscito durante il periodo preso in considerazione) l’effetto “show più amato dal pubblico” ha influito meno quest’anno e tra i drama ha trionfato, ancor più del previsto, portandosi a casa quasi tutto The Handmaid’s Tale, premi comunque meritatissimi, soprattutto quello alla Moss. Altri successi importanti di serata tra le serie limitate e i film tv hanno trionfato Big Little Lies e l’episodio di Black Mirror, San Junipero. Nelle comedy, premi distribuiti tra Veep, Atlanta, SNL … i soliti noti, insomma.
Quest’edizione si caratterizza per un trionfo molto “femminile” e femminista, in un edizione che sicuramente premia la bravura di creatori e interpreti, ma si vena anche di una connotazione leggermente politica nell’era Trumpiana.
